We are excited and proud to announce that Gordon Pitcher, one of our own drivers, was recognized as a National Driver All-Star by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC).
Every year, NPTC recognizes private fleet truck drivers who have demonstrated high-performance standards in customer service, safety, adherence to company standards, regulatory compliance, and community service. Gordon was one of 27 national drivers recognized at this year’s ceremony in Orlando, FL.
“These drivers embody all the characteristics, skills and attitudes that are the heart of what enables the private fleet to continue to deliver exceptional levels of customer service,” said Gary Petty, NPTC President and CEO. “They are ambassadors, not only for their company, but for the entire private fleet community. We are honored to recognize these private fleet drivers for meeting high performance standards in the fields of customer service, safety and compliance.”
Gordon has been with the company for 36 years and started with Aladdin when there were only a handful of drivers. Mohawk now operates what is considered to be a large private fleet, and Gordon is a region swing driver, which means he delivers everywhere and often drives routes he’s never done before for customers he’s never had before. He is also a driver trainer and will train new drivers and help any drivers with safety concerns to get them back on the right track.
When Gordon was asked about the meaning of this award, he said he was shocked to be nominated and win and felt honored by Mohawk and the National Private Truck Council.
“Gordon is phenomenal; he’s all around our secret weapon, if you will. He’s vital not only to our region but also to delivery operations in general,” said Brittany Figlow, Director of Transportation. “I am so proud and excited to see him earn this award and be recognized among all of the other amazing drivers. He definitely belonged there and earned that spot.”
