New Transportation Hall of Fame Honors 7 Drivers for 20 Years of Safe Driving

August 26, 2021

Mohawk recently inducted seven drivers into our new Transportation Hall of Fame that recognizes local and OTR drivers who have driven 20 years for the company without a preventable accident.

“These drivers are the true leaders of the next generation of Mohawk Professional Drivers,” said Brian Walraven, FNA Sr. Director of Transportation during an award ceremony to honor the drivers earlier this month. “The amount of miles they’ve driven and their hours behind the wheel with no accidents is remarkable to say the least.”

During the recognition ceremony, each driver was presented with a plaque, a $750 gift card and a magnetic insignia for their truck. Their names have also been installed on two new Driver Hall of Fame wall displays. One is located across from the Logistics Command Center in the Customer Experience building on the Corporate Campus, and the other can be found in the new CAD Driver Lounge in Calhoun.

“Congratulations to our inaugural Hall of Fame class,” said Steve Bevan, Director of Transportation NWGA. “The 20-plus years of accident-free driving by these seven men equates to a combined total of over 14 million miles without a recordable accident, which is no doubt worthy of Hall of Fame status.”

Congratulations to Anthony Miles, Luther (Jr.) Weaver, Charles (Red) Scoggins, Leroy Mashburn, Joe Carpenter, Tommy Silvers and Joe Silvers for your impeccable safety records.
